Why does my PS3 turn off after about 30 seconds? I get a green light for power, the fan blasts and goes quiet after a few seconds, no video or sound or XMB and then the system goes to stanby with solid red light.

In this video, I show you one POSSIBLE fix for the black screen. There are probably more problems associated with it that this will not fix. Also, buying a new hard drive is cheaper than sending your ps3 to Sony. I got mine for around $90, while sending to Sony is $150.
To see if you need to purchase a new hard drive, you need to:
1. Do the Reset I show you (make sure you hold the button down AGAIN after it goes back into standby!!)
2. Click the "File Restore" option
3. If it says "the PS3 hard drive is corrupted and needs to be restored", you will most likely need a new hard drive. However, the system will try to restore your current hard drive, but I dont think it really ever works. If it does, you got lucky.
For the other options on the screen, "Restore Default Settings" might work. That will fix your PS3 if the display settings are off for whatever reason.
Im really not sure what option 4 will do, but I guess you can try it.
I REALLY dont suggest doing option 5, because it will delete all your files. You might not even have a corrupted hard drive, anyways.
When you go to buy the new hard drive, get a SARA - 2.5"- 5400 rpm hard drive. Preferably made by Seagate, because they manufacture the PS3 hard drives. You can get any amount of space, like 320 GB or even 500 GB. I bought mine at Best Buy.
There are several videos on YouTube showing how to install the hard drive, and the PS3 manual also tells you how to do it. It very easy. the only problem i had was the screws holding the drive to its case. They were extremely tight and very hard to remove.

You can also use the latest firmware of M3 Real or iTouchDS to play as they are from the same company and are the only ones to make a firmware upgrade instead of a patch.

You dont need to replace the arm7 for this game.
This is a video on how to make new ds games work on R4.
What you need:
DSLAZY
Internet
arm7.bin
DSBUFF(if dslazy doesn't work)
You will find the sites at the end of this.
First, You need to go the rapidlibrary and get arm7.bin
Then, Get DSlazy/DSbuff and unpack the rom that doesn't work.
After That, Replace the arm7.bin that's in the game with the arm7.bin that you downloaded.
Finally, Click DS Packer and save your .nds file
