I get what your saying about bits, but like many other things in the horse world, if bits are used properly with SLIGHT pressure, they are a helpful tool, but the way many yank and pull so hard on a horses mouth is unfair. Whips can also be used as a tool if used properly. A true, gentle tap with the whip is encouragement to the horse, many times if I'm leading a horse, and the stop I might take the end and tap their hindqaurters. I never would beat a horse! Many people hurt the horse without realising it, and they need to be educated on what they're doing wrong. Now one thing in the horse world I would never agree with is spurs! They're cruel, they hurt and there's no reason to add more power to kick the horse bc you shouldn't be kicking them anyway. Tapping ur heals to a horses sides gently is an aid, kicking a horse is abuse.

Great video on bits.I have changed my mind radically on the subject ,even though I was always uneasy about horses chomping and opening their mouths in obvious discomfort. I see the "helping people" bit on your channel-and the beautiful video you made.Are you involved in Equine Therapeutic work?.I've just done some "work" with a guy who is recovering from a 15yr heroin dependency.....he had never had anything to do with horses before; after taking a youngster for a walk on the lead rein he was overcome with emotion...he said he could'nt understand how an animal so large and so strong could be so peaceful and gentle....I told him the HORSE is because YOU are.I hope you can get through the "shit" in your life-and as for the shit in the world; well there is a lot!...But there is just the same amount [or more!] that smells better!.Peace and respect.H.H.x
