Mute swans are large birds, measuring 144 to 158 cm. The wingspan is 2 to 2.5 meters. The two sexes are alike in appearance, except that males are generally larger than females. The plumage is white. Mute swans breed in north central Europe and north central Asia. It is not migratory, although some populations must move in winter when waterways and lakes freeze. They are sometimes found at the coast, particularly in winter, rather than solely being birds of inland waters. The Mute Swan is one of the heaviest flying birds, with males weighing more than 12kg, and females more than 11 kg. They live in well-sheltered bays, open marshes, lakes, and ponds. 'Swan' is the common gender term, but 'cob' for a male and 'pen' for a female are also used, as is 'cygnet' for the baby swans.
The White Stork (ciconia ciconia) is a large wading bird in the stork family Ciconiidae. This stork is almost silent except for the noisy mutual bill-clattering when adults meet at the nest. It breeds in open farmland areas with access to marshy wetlands. The white stork builds a stick nest in trees, on buildings, or special platforms. Because it is not persecuted, it often nests close to human habitation. A White Stork pair raises a single brood a year. Een ooievaar eet vooral kikkers en grote insecten, maar ook jonge vogels, hagedissen en knaagdieren staan op het menu. Voor een broedplek maakt de ooievaar graag gebruik van kunstmatige nestgelegenheden op daken en wagenwielen, maar hij broedt ook steeds meer in zelfgemaakte nesten in bomen. Een ooievaar bouwt z'n nest graag bij een rijk voedselgebied, want bij een gemiddeld aantal jongen moet het ouderpaar minstens 4 kilo aan voedsel voor hun kroost verzamelen. Ooievaars zijn niet trouw aan elkaar, maar 'nesttrouw'. Dat verklaart waarom sommige ooievaarspaartjes lang bij elkaar blijven. Wereldwijd zijn er 18 ooievaarssoorten. Ooievaars zijn trekvogels die grote afstanden af kunnen leggen.

They have enormous ears and a unique nose that is simply a long, boneless trunk extending from the upper lip. The trunk itself is so strong it is capable of lifting 600 pounds (250- 275 kg). Their incisor teeth develop into tusks about 245 cm long and can weigh about 60 kg each. Elephants have one of the longest lifespan of all mammals: about seventy years. Elephants eat vegetation like leaves, roots, bark, grasses and fruit. Each day they can consume anywhere from 100 to 300 kg of food, and drink up to 190 L of water.
African elephants wander day or night in non-territorial herds that can reach 200 elephants. Their society is based on a social matriarchal community. The herd's well being depends on the guidance of the matriarch. She determines when they eat, rest, bathe or drink. As the matriarch begins to be limited by advancing age, around 50-60 years old, the next oldest replaces her and she is either abandoned or leaves by herself. Giraffes are one of the world's tallest mammals. They are well known for their long necks, long legs, and spotted patterns. Giraffes have small horns or knobs on top of their heads that grow to be about five inches long. These knobs are used to protect the head in fights. Giraffes live in the savannas of Africa, where they roam freely among the tall trees, arid land, dense forests and open plains. Their long necks help giraffes eat leaves from tall trees, typically acacia trees. If they need to, giraffes can go for several days without water. Instead of drinking, giraffes stay hydrated by the moisture from leaves. Giraffes are non-territorial, social animals. They travel in large herds that are not organized in any way. Herds may consist of any combination of sexes or ages.. The lifespan of a healthy giraffe is about 25 years
