I began earlier tonight watching a youtube clip of an old guy playing a chinese flute, and after listening to a dozen or so songs ended up here.
Looks like an interesting site. I'm a real sucker for this type of music.

Hi Stanley Thank you so much for your clips on Shirley Yamaguchi. I have just finished The China Lover by Ian Buruma and that was how I discovered her, I was brought up with her songs but under her Chinese name, never realising her fascinating history. As I can't read Chinese, your commentaries are a godsend. Her songs are evergreen Chinese songs still heard and enjoyed on radio. I even have a CD of her songs that I bought 6 years ago!!
I am so very grateful to people like you who took the trouble to upload these clips for me to enjoy.

it's ok to associate politics with music, but ppl should just do THOROUGH research on the song and related subject. People who attacks this channel clearly don't appear to do so, but they think they know everything! But these people no longer annoy me! I let them know just to piss them off!
