Located between San Francisco and San Jose in the heart of Silicon Valley, Stanford University is recognized as one of the world's leading research and teaching institutions.

The University was founded in 1891 by Leland and Jane Stanford to "promote the public welfare by exercising an influence on behalf of humanity and civilization." More than a century later, Stanford remains dedicated to finding solutions to the great challenges of the day and to preparing our students for leadership in today's complex world.

buzzaw77, I think you're just looking for an in to do some ranting. Everyone knows it's not just the brain.. there are other classes at stanford(and elsewhere) where it's extensively talked about. That said there are many reason as to why to approach subjects in one way rather than the other.

You're all like sheep, why does this kind of condition have to begin and end in the brain. Most of these so called 'neurotransmitters' are also systemic hormones, so you have an agent that influences these chemicals and you assume it's all to do with levels in the brain. Please proove your hypothesis instead of peddling it like the word of god, show that it's only to do with a change of the levels of these chemicals in the brain and not elswehere in the body. You can't can you?

Thank you for providing this lecture to the public. I am just emerging from a bout of major depression that has lasted over a year, and a lot of people in my universe need to see and understand this information.
