I don't know of a single college that doesn't expect students to live on campus, at least for their freshman year, unless they're local commuters. The adjustment of being away from home is made much easier when you're in an environment with other people your age who are coping with the same changes. It isn't just SHC and it is a very logical request.

As long as I have been a student at SHC we have had to live on campus. The rules have not changed since I have been there. That is what makes the community experience so different from anywhere else. Living together lets us be more than a number or a random face in the crowd. I've lived on campus along with all the other students for 2 years now and I'm not complaining about it. Personally, I think living together makes the experience better.

Personally I admire the school and like the idea of the school having its own Youtube channel. Spring Hill just needs its own podcast now. Also, not to rain on someone's parade, but now all student have to live on campus. You can always live with family.

If the campus has such a great community aspect why did the administration change its rules forcing all students to live on campus? This is the worst attempt to market SHC so far. I'll leave you with a quote to ponder from a featured SHC community expert:
