Mexico produces a lot of great boxers. So does Puerto Rico. However in the era of the well regarded boxer in Manny Pacquiao, the boxing world has come to witness the influx of promising and talented Filipino boxers. True, it may take long, if not never, for the aspiring Filipino Boxers to at least equal the feat of the Philippines national treasure. Manny Pacquiao has given a nation tremendous pride and hope in the face of so many adversities, economically and politically.
This channel is dedicated to Manny Pacquiao.
And also to the Brave Filipino Warriors. Though sometimes defeated in front of the much more superior fighters, they stood toe to toe and fought graciously in the name of the Filipino Nation.

Climbing the ring 2.6 lbs overweight, Sonsona ended his 12-round fight against Mexican challenger Alejandro "Payasito" Hernandez in a split draw during their "Pride and Glory" title bout Saturday (Sunday in Manila) at the Casino Rama in Ontario, Canada.
The warrior from General Santos City tipped the scales at 117.6 lbs during the weigh-in held hours before both fighters entered the ring. Hernandez came in at exactly 115 to keep his chances of winning the vacant World Boxing Organization (WBO) junior bantamweight crown.
The WBO stripped Sonsona of his 115-lb belt after failing to make the weight.
Im not really in good condition but if Im in shape I could have knocked him out," said Sonsona, through his trainer Nonito Donaire Sr., after the fight.

Filipino boxer Ciso "Kid Terrible" Morales won by majority decision over Mexican foe Miguel Angel Gonzalez in one of the undercard fights of the Marvin Sonsona-Alejandro Hernandez title bout at the Casino Rama in Ontario, Canada.
The three judges scored the fight at 77-75, 76-76 and 78-74 with the third judge giving six of the eight rounds to the Cagayan de Oro boxer in his eight-round junior featherweight match against the Guadalajara native Gonzalez.
Morales, wearing gray and white trunks, remained unbeaten after 14 fights with eight of his wins coming by way of knockout while Gonzalez suffered his second loss in only his 12th match.

Saturday night in Tuxtla Gutierrez in Chiappas, Mexico, Filipino challenger Rodel Mayol (25-4-1, 19 KOs) scored a second round TKO over longtime WBC light flyweight champion Edgar Sosa (37-5, 21 KOs), who was making his 11th defense (in 28 months). After Sosa was badly hurt by an unintentional headbutt, he was dropped again when action resumed and the referee waved it off moments later. Mayol was successful in his fifth attempt at a world title.
