i just watching the video of the container vessel in heavy seas and saw your comment about how your too old to join the merchant navy. i thought you would like to know that this is not true, i am currently a cadet at the fleetwood nautical college in lancashire and the oldest cadet is 40 yrs old and has only just started. clyde marine is the biggest training company at this college but there are others such as the ship safe trainging group (sstg) bibby and james fishers. each one has pros and cons.
