St Giles Trust started the highly successful 'SOS Gangs Project' in August 2006.

The service provides a support service to young people aged 18-30 who are at risk of involvement in gang-related activity and have a connection to the London Borough of Southwark.

This project identifies and engages young people in the target group while they are still serving prison sentences. The young people are then supported upon their return to the community. St Giles Trust empowers young people engage with services, education, training and employment and other positive activities that will enable them to develop positive lives in the community.

Referrals are made by the individual and since the project has started over 50 individuals have benefited from the programme with just 3 individuals being recalled for re-offending.

This channel will showcase some of the postive work that we have been doing and will highlight a positive message to individuals all over the world.

	palacebabe57 (10 months ago) what a great day we all had. and very worthwhile with the community coming together! if we can do it on our estate others can do it too !! there is always somebody in the community that can teach kids something. wether its dancing ,keep fit,sports,arts and crafts even cooking ! .....many thanks to junior and nathan for making this film and giving up thier free time.
