I think this is a brilliant idea. I'd love to upload some of my own songs but i'd be afraid to because of copywrite i wouldn't want someone to steal my music. Can you upload covers as long as its stated as a cover?

Hello, Dont forget to tell everyone about Sony BMGs best new female artist.
Leona Lewis will be releasing her new album through Sony and J Records in the states.
She is the first reality show contestant to ever get a global album release in this way.
It will be released in late summer 2007.
She is one of the best female singers in the world.

I think that this idea is amazing. You can send a cd to a record company and have no idea if it arrives, if it ever gets played, if it is used as a coaster. This at least makes the artist feel like they have a chance at getting a foot in the door. If only every company tried the same idea.

I think it's a good idea.

Greetings from Italy!

ALSO, THE IDEA THAT PEOPLE WHO ADD AS MANY FRIENDS AS POSSIBLE ARE LIKELY TO GET SIGNED IS A FALLACY. ASK YOUR SELF, WHEN YOU FIRST HEAR A SONG WHAT PROMPTS YOU TO GO DOWN TO HMV etc. TO BUY THE ALBUM? ITS THE QUALITY OF THE SONG...YOU MAY HAVE A MILLION FRIENDS BUT SOMEONE WITH GREATER TALENT WILL OFTEN PREVAIL...(www.stinerichard.vox.com)

FURTHER, ARTISTS ARE CLOSER TO THE RECORD COMPANY WHICH THEY HOPE TO GET SIGNED TO AND VICE VERSA. YOU GET GREAT FEEDBACK WITHIN A FEW HOURS, EVEN MINUTES WHICH WOULD OTHERWISE TAKE MONTHS OR NEVER.

I DONOT AGREE WITH ANY OF THE CRITICS. THIS IS AN INGENIOUS IDEA. I AM ON THE SITE (www.stinerichard.vox.com) AND THE BENEFITS ARE COUNTLESS. 'MEETING OTHER ARTISTS, GETTING GREAT FEEDBACK FROM FELLOW ARTISTS AND EVEN A&R, WHICH IS WHAT IS IMPORTANT TO ARTISTS AT AN EARLY STAGE IN THEIR CAREERS...
