FEATURING NURSING DEMONSTRATIONS AND REPORTS ON HEALTH ISSUES RELATED TO BREASTFEEDING AND BABY CARE
About Me:

. *****************

Reporter Mom trying to find out the truth about what's best for baby.
. ******************

When my son was born, I struggled with breastfeeding. At first, it was so painful, my toes would curl every time Gunner latched on. However, I was persistent and I am glad about that because the more I learn about breastfeeding, the more I realize just how important it is. It is the perfect food that God has endowed women with to nourish their babies.

In North America, we unfortunately equate the breast more with sex than with nourishment, to the point that we feel wrong about feeding our babies in public and about continuing to nurse our children beyond the first few months.

As I have been finding out, however, older babies and toddlers continue to reap many benefits from receiving breast milk, including having a stronger immune system, feeling more emotionally secure and having a stronger bond with their mother. Some people are put off by the idea of someone nursing an older baby, implying that there is something perverted or unnatural about it. However, North American physicians and reference books recommend nursing at least for one year, and the WHO recommends that children be breastfed for at least two years. Neither American doctors nor the WHO say that a child should be weaned at one or two years of age, but that they should be breastfed at least this long, if not longer.

So, in order to spread awareness of the benefits of breastfeeding, to encourage other nursing moms, and to flout taboos about breastfeeding beyond the first six months, I have been posting videos of me nursing my son and will continue to add one every month as long as I continue to breastfeed him.

breastfeeding is the bes thing a mother can do for a child, research says that breastfed children are more intelligent and more immune to many diseases, than others

You are the BEST!
2 years ago I was new to YouTube and looking for videos on nursing toddlers, and found almost nothing. You keep spreading the word, girl. We've got a long way to go yet, but have come along way since I started breastfeeding my oldest in the 1980's. I had been forced to express milk in a workplace bathroom stall because I disturbed the other women doing it on the bathroom chair. My latest, I was provided a comfortable room complete with T.V. and fridge for storing the milk!
We are making strides!
I strongly recommend the book "Mothering your Nursing Toddler" by Norma Jane Bumgarner.

It's great seeing other Moms who are extended nursing. My 6 month old son is still exclusively nursing & I'm donating milk to an adopted boy as well, and we hope to make it for a very minimum of 2 years. :) Your videos give us hope :)

hey i just wanted to tell you that i am a huge fan of your videos. breastfeeding is one of the most beautiful acts that a mother and baby can do together. i admire you and leigh's mom so much because you are not ashamed of breastfeeding your children past the age that some consider "normal". i will without a doubt be breastfeeding my children when i have them in the future and at least for a year. all the best for you, gunner, laura, and leigh :) -Cerena

OMG, See this is what the world needs to see. The beauty of the woman, milking her sibling. Oh how nice it would be if women could nurture us all, and donate their milk to local dairy farms for purifying and putting in grocery stores for us all to drink. Oh mama..........Oh sweet mama!!!!!!!!!!

hi! i just found your channel and wanted to say that what you're doing is amazing! i hope to nurse my son for 2 years or more (so far we've made it 6 months!) I was wondering if any of your friends have multiple children nursing and if so could you possibly do a video on tandem nursing? i want to have another baby soon and i'm really curious as to other mom's opinions on tandem nursing! thanks!
