Hmm...I'm not really sure. I think it would be OK though. Maybe use a little less because it will absorb more of the liquid than the flakes would.

You could try to drip a small amount of regular cooking oil then spread it around with a towel. I haven't tried this but I am sure it should work just like the spray.

Yes, my husband is Somali. It was not too hard to learn. I had a lot of people that helped me. Also, a lot of the ingredients are the same for the recipes like garlic, cilantro and cumin powder so I did a lot of test dishes until I got the right taste.
