After replacing the cold water inlet valve and a new pump I found the cause of my problem was in fact a wire (brown if I remember correctly) that was broken that connects to the pump. Although still intact, the stranded core was broken. After repairing the wire the machine now functions perfectly...
@WFK2831, my inlet valve wasn't broken however I found a broken wire that connects to the pump that was causing my issue.
