6-minute repairs take on Differential Oil Replacement on a Honda S2000.This is a visual highlight of our repair.

SAFETY
Differential Oil is usually a 90-weight product and is VERY carcinogenic. (PPE) Proper Protective equipment is required: Safety gloves, goggles and rubber based gloves is a must.

With the car on jack stands and level, we start by removing the top differential oil plug. Next is to remove the lower plug.

The bottom plug has a magnet in its base. The magnet is used to catch metal particulate suspended in the oil. Excessive metal on the magnet means unusual gear wear and additional maintenance maybe required.

This is the same plug after cleaning.
Remember this plug goes in the bottom of the Differential.

Replace all washers and torque the bottom bolt to your manufactures manual specification. (Our requirement is 33-foot pounds).

Add new differential oil through the top plug hole (Our requirement is 90-weight oil).

The car still should be on jack stands and level. Fill differential through the top plug hole until excess oil comes out of the plug hole.

Pull out filler hose, let drain then screw in plug and tighten to manufactures manual specification.




Review manual, recheck all plugs then lower car. Dispose of used oil at your local recycle center.
