That's a really good question! Well, writing the language was the first thing to come, so that was easier. I think the pronunciation is really the only hard part of the Danish language. But the thing is, once you get used to the pronunciation, you can say anything and it becomes just a matter of acquiring vocabulary!
So I guess making sounds that the American mouth is not used to making was the hardest part for me. It took me a long time to be able to say the Danish 'r', but I practiced and worked at it. I'm really glad I did, because it is the same for both French & German, so that has been very useful for me.
