Redshape produces and performs behind a red mask at all times, even wearing it onstage at his club dates around Europe. It is known that he lives in Berlin and has released over a dozen tracks over the last couple of years or so on labels such as Delsin, Styrax Leaves and Music Man.

Alexandre Lehmann (Zzzzra)....
Alexandre is from France and is a producer of electronic music......

This is part of an interview for DeepInDub:
"My name is Alexandre Lehmann and Zzzzra is the name of my main music project. I have been producing electronic music since the late 80s. During that time I was working in my adolescent bedroom, using a brand new Roland D-20, creating stupid love songs without lyrics. I then moved to the living room when I finally grew up and sold all my gear - except for my mighty Nord Modular - to focus on creating music with a computer. That's about the only big difference in my producing modus operandi since then. Well, except that now I'm a drug addict, but that's another story.

I like to wear slippers when I'm producing music, but sometimes its a bit warm out there so I have to go barefoot.

I have the feeling that I'm more creative when I have a beard. When I shave, everything goes wrong

I often drink bottles of soda (with a lot of sugar in it) that are just above my keyboard. This occasionally means big trouble!!

Sometimes I have to work on a track for 10 hours straight with no pause (because I always forget to have a break) and then I get bed sores on my ass." (edited)

Zzzzra has released EP's on numerous (net-)labels like Schall-netlabel, deepindub and Biomechanics.
Trying to describe his sound with only a few words: repetition, difference, echo, reverb, dust and static.
As his main influence he named the sound of the Dub area around Berlin and Detroit.

"I'm not into loud and banging music, I prefer the infinite deepness of a noise generator passed through a resonant filter". (edited)

The Remixer. Christoph Schindling...
Hello, I'm Christoph Schindling, born in Wiesbaden, Germany in 1980. In the early 90's I was influenced by electronic music through the radio show HR3 Clubnight and I started to develop my sound with a few analog synthesizers and a 4 track cassette-recorder .
At this point I was experimenting with sounds , beats and synths only for my own pleasure and during this process, I noticed that producing electronic music was a natural part of my life.
Over the years my studio has changed in many ways and I started to combine the latest digital-tools while using the advantages of my analog synths. My music always comes around with some deep and melodic elements somewhere within Techno and House.

Since early 2007 I have released EP's on various labels like Night-Drive-Music, 3rdWaveMusic, Kreislauf, Dreiton, Tropic, Modulator, DeepinDub, Earmin, Schall, Eintakt, CISM and Sulamuse.

In May 2008 I started my own digital label Ornithopter Records and have focused on all kinds of deep electronic music.
I'm excited about what will come in the future ;)

Steffen Bennemann (Stalker, Koi).....
Steffen Bennemann is from Leipzig, Germany
Formerly know under the alias "Stalker", Steffen has nothing in common with those mean persons with somewhat insane habits of chasing other people. Our Stalker is a kind guy, putting much effort into his biggest love: Music. As DJ, producer, writer, co-owner of 1bit and staff member of the highly acclaimed Nachtdigital festival he has left quite some marks in many different fields over the past few years.

Being interested in all kinds of arts, Steffen draws his influences not only from a wide field of music such as Jazz, Dub or electronica but from movies, photography and literature as well (actually, his former artist name was leaned from a story by the Strugatzki sci-fi writers). Asked for the style of his own music, he gives a rather simple answer: "Techno and house". Having been educated by the school of Detroit, mood and emotions play a major role in his DJ-sets as well as in his own productions - creating a sound spectrum as versatile as life itself.

'In Your Arms' by Pentatonik (August 2009).

Video by Simeon Bowring and Alexis Worrall.

This is the video collage that I made with artist Alexis Worrall for my Pentatonik track 'In Your Arms'. It's a track taken from the anti-war album 'A Thousand Paper Cranes' which is due out in August.

The album deals with themes related to war and tries to reflect upon the fact that at times of great pain people find great courage and often see great beauty in what they see. The images we chose were to incorporate the natural world in contrast to the machines of war. We felt for example the image of the bombers flying over rolling countryside was unexpected against the poetic gentle phrasing of the music.

The other focus that had inspired the music was the idea of wanting a moment to last forever. Holding on to someone that you might never hold again and wishing that moment was timeless. The anticipation and fear of the future makes the moment timeless. The final image is of letting go and this could be interpreted as letting go before going to war of in terms of letting go of life.

It was not easy to work with real images of war and the experience was uncomfortable. For some it also made difficult viewing and is not upbeat or cool in the traditional promo way but it's true to the sentiment of the track.

I think that it demonstrates Alexis's understanding of painting and fuses that with my visual style. I have used repetition before in my visual work in the 90s to bring across and idea of timelessness for example. I came from a background of painting too having studied at St Martins were I specialised in painted collages eventually using video to create movement.

Ironically I think the record label found the video too 'heavy' so are making another one. It will be interesting to see what transpires!.

Convextion.
Gerard Hanson was born in 1972. He hails from the unlikely environments of Dallas, Texas USA. Little is known about this producer who seems to have Scandinavian roots. His productions have reflections with Basic Channel/Chain Reaction sound. His main inspirations are Juan Atkins and Derrick May. His music also has influences from Stefan Robbers, Red Planet and Carl Craig. He found a way where everything came together: Deepness, Minimalism and Soul, the Detroit-Berlin connection. In 1994 Gerard Hanson and Dan Kurzius started Hardsync, a Magazine dedicated to electronic music reviews and artist interviews. It has been defunct since 1996 as a result of a computer crash. Hard Sync was an outlet for several Texas-based electronic music enthusiasts to reach out to others around the world that shared similar musical interests. He released his first 12" in 1995. Ever since his debut 12" on Matrix in 1995. From 1995-1997, he released 5 eps, and then only 2 more in the next 6 years until 2005. The reason he produced so infrequently was because when his first releases came out, the tracks were licensed to some big releasers and he did not get paid for them. After that some other labels approached him but just wanted more of the same and didn't really seem to understand his sound. They just wanted more of the same sounds. After that he stopped releasing music and produced only for his personal usage. After a couple of years the label Down Low convinced him to pick up his producing again. He is very careful about sharing his music with the rest of the world. In the last decade he only used the aliases Convextion and E.R.P. (Event Related Potential). E.R.P is an electro-edged moniker. Gerard has remained willingly anonymous since his debut in 1995, but he came out of obscurity for a debut European Live performance in London in April 2006. Why he remains unknown is a mystery. In the future we will hear much more from this producer.
