On January 1, 1980, "Shock Theatre" was renamed "Saturday Night Dead." The local station had become an NBC affiliate and the show aired after "Saturday Night Live." Clever eh? New open, new location: set in a club to accommodate the fans who wanted to appear on the show. Typical program was still: show open, segment, "bumpers," segment -- oh yeah, film and commercials in between. Shock Theatre was a late night horror movie TV show in Dayton Ohio from 1972 to 1985. The host was Dr. Creep (aka Barry Hobart). Creep's sidekick from 1977 to 1980 was Obieyoyo (tm); producer was John Higgins. http://www.shocktheatre.org http://www.drcreep.com http://www.nightvisionpuppets.org

From time to time between 1978-1980, Shock Theatre's Dr. Creep (Barry Hobart) would visit Les Fern's Dance Studio. Lester Fern (John Higgins), "The Disco Kid" aka John Revolting (Paul Lindamood) would teach the latest dance steps during these years of the disco craze. Notice the "Les Fern Dance Studio" sign--nailed on a deserted building in a run-down portion of Dayton Ohio's industrial zone.
