Manufacturers have wanted to go mostly digital download for years. Look at the profits that app stores have produced. Or music sales. It's inevitable. I buy most of my games on Steam (can't trade in old PC games) so I'm kind of used to it now. The one positive thing that's going to come from this is the hardware on both machines is pretty PC like. Maybe this will mean more arcade games because they can be ported over effortlessly & cheap to publish via download. Indie PC game ports likely too.

This game was amazing at the time. So fast and smooth. And the car physics were nice. And the track designs. Pretty perfect really.

Agree that Sensible Soccer is the only soccer game from that period still worth playing.

I think they were just having a bit of a chat. I've seen players unnecessarily drag out a match a lot longer than that. You can always ctrl k when all your allies are dead I certainly wouln't judge someone for doing that.

Nothing like the luxury of authentic walnut effect finish. I feel like the carts should come in leatherette binding.

I went back when I heard it had improved. I didn't really think so myself. I'm sure it'll be very good in the end but it needs another 6 months of updates till they find a way to get the balance right.

Yes but why would you want to do it while the game is playing? In a multiplayer game that'd be totally impractical so it's something for singleplayer skirmish?

FlatOut2/Ultimate Carnage is fantastic. I played that for weeks. It's very hard in the later levels, but still feels fair, which is something you don't come across in games that much anymore.

One of my other favourite PS2 racers that doesn't get a lot of attention is Mashed: Fully Loaded. It's much like Micro Machines and fantastic in 2 player mode.

This minimal 808 stuff is more hip hop than the 90's stuff if you're going to get all old school puritanical about it. Not a great song but not so bad it's worth getting upset about it.

I'd imagine Galactic War will get a lot more people playing Aeon. Mercy snipes will be that much more appealing to people. Plus the t2 shields would probably make people who are worried about protecting their comms reassurance.

Are specific planets going to be specific maps ala Boneyards (and Phoenix Works/CBB maybe, so long since I played them).

I want all the good aspects from BC2 rolled into Battlefield 3.

I don't find the introduction menu that useful. It blocks too much of the screen. When I get into a game I'm usually more interested in where the players with a high rating are.

I find Average Joes boring most of the time but this had a lot of action.

I used to think this game was incredibly difficult back in the day but PS2 Shinobi is a whole other level of nightmarish. The last boss kicked the crap out of me 100 times.

Shinobi III is a very pretty game but it feels a little easy compared to Revenge. It's still really good but not as good as this.

It's been a long time so my memory is hazy but I think PAL had more lines on the screen, but refreshed at 50hz rather than 60hz. If the game was converted properly it'd run fine (the Dreamcast was the 1st time we started getting a lot of proper conversions) but the slap dash conversions before that generally ran slower.

Need to train yourself out of saying decimate so often. Everybody who talks at length repeats certain phrases it's natural just might not be that aware of it.

Dying constantly.. yep that's my memory of Thunder Force 4. Always found it quite annoying for some reason.

Nice looking game. I always expect western developed shmups to look a bit shoddy.
