In Sufism it is believed that Muhammad (pbuh) is the seal of Prophets. There are no more Prophets to come after him because with his coming the full moon of prophet hood was reached.
The Sufi's - according to the words of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh): "The gnostics are the inheritors of prophets" - believe that Allah's mercy is such that He would not leave humanity without living guides.
Hence,that is why there are always 124000 living (Awliya) saints in every age.

True Saints (AWLIA) are the inheritors of prophets and messengers, their hearts are always connected to the divine presense.
When they adress people they do not give lectures or speeches. They do not prepair a presentation or a paper. They simply give people from the eternal fountain of wisdom which they are drinking from.
What you don't learn from the Awliya's silence you won't learn from their speech.
Their words are from the hearts of prophets to the hearts of the listeners. These kind of talks are called sohbah or association. Those who are blessed enough to hear such personalities with an open mind and humblness, their hearts will be awakend to reality, and the seed of love of the divine will be planted in their hearts.
