Cecilia Bartoli is a highly intelligent person with great musical talent and an emotioinal connection to music. Among other pursuits, she has made an historical study of some of the arias written for castrati, and she has performed and sung some. She has an agile voice than can navigate "acrobatic" musical passages. Her voice, naturally, has a feminine timbre and vibrato, which some listeners may find to be acceptable, while others would prefer a more focused voice and male timbre for castrato arias.
