THE CHILLY WINDS sing the best of the popular folk songs from the revival period of the early 1960s.
Each member of the group(Bruce Blazej, John Birchler, Jim Moran) brings unique vocal and instrumental talents to the trio, blending to create a distinctive sound that has excited audiences coast to coast.

The Trio was assembled in Scottsdale, Arizona, in August of 2003 at a music camp sponsored by the late singer/songwriter John Stewart (1939-2008) and his former bandmate in the Kingston Trio Nick Reynolds (1933-2008). John, Bruce, and Jim discovered that they had solo careers and musical interests that were similar enough to create a basic repertoire but at the same time diverse in a way that allowed them to trade song suggestions and ideas for arrangements that has led to the unique sound and approach of the Chilly Winds today.

The Chilly Winds debut CD Live In Colorado, including enhanced digital audio of many of the videos on this channel, is available by mail order from

Hey Jim - thanks for the info. I automatically assumed the 50 Years of Having Fun DVD was correct but I guess it wasn't. I'm glad your working to correct the Wikipedia page. Also thanks for your kind comments. Will we be seeing any Chilly Winds videos anytime soon?

Hey there Jim. We're off and running. Dunno how we're gonna overhaul the mighty Chilly Winds though! I've sorta got the site off Simon now, so anything you can see I'm doing wrong.....let me know!
And one of these days we'll walk that lonesome valley at Manitou!

Thank you, glad you liked it. Yes it is indeed a great song coming from a great artist. JS is generally a bit overlooked and quite hard to find in record stores not only here in Sweden. But me and my friends gonna keep on loving his music, and try to spread it as much as possible.
Best regards//Janne from the north of Sweden.

Jim Thanks for the wonderful comments on my version of "Leaving on a Jet Plane" yes I did that in open G.. kind of came to me one day, cause I have always loved that song, and I miss John D. so I felt inspired and compelled to honor him in some way..and didn't want to copy him yet I wanted to capture the essence of his words and his being.. i am so glad that you "got it", it means a lot to me

Howdy Jim! United morning Nick, thats most honoring. Its amazing how many people from LA in the biz that come to relax here in the Sierra Nevada Mountains. Bishop is just about in the middle of it all Id say. Little Lakes Valley is becoming a popular spot. Our heart is in it too. See you soon. Dave
