Here's a tip for being a loser--become passionate and skillful in some sort of interest that will never make you any money, and only offer the questionable compensation of being able to do that particular thing well.

For me, its poetry. I love it, am reasonably good at it, and will likely never make a dime from it, even though its one of the few skills I have, besides being able to get by on only 4-5 hours of sleep a day.
