Auspicious genius Preston Reeds entrance onto the music scene, supporting beat legend Alan Ginsberg at the age of 17 goes a little way to explain his significance in the annals of pop-culture. A better explanation is that Preston Reed has single handedly reinvented acoustic guitar playing. Fact. Listening to his records it's impossible to imagine such a symphonic sound coming from just one man and one instrument. Seeing him live, however, he attacks the guitar with such fervour, such spooky synergy, that all the bodyslaps, polyrhythms, harmonic tickles and his two handed percussive fretboard maul, astonishingly haul out an orchestra you never knew was hidden inside.
