"Harnessing Technology to Make Education Free" - Saylor.org features free, asynchronous courses in twelve popular disciplines, including business administration, history and economics. We hire credentialed professors to create course outlines and to locate, vet and organize open education resources (e.g. MIT, Yale, Michigan lectures) into a structured and intuitive asynchronous learning format. The professors also create original OER content and link to freely posted copyrighted material to fill in any gaps. We hire additional professor consultants to conduct a "peer review" to ensure that the student is presented with the equivalent information they would receive if taking the course at a traditional brick and mortar college.
