Hosted by the Savannah College of Art and Design, the annual festival presents a full range of cinematic creativity from both award-winning professionals and emerging student filmmakers.
The festival regularly screens award-winning films before their national release dates at the Trustees Theater, a 1946 cinema house, and the Lucas Theatre, a former Vaudeville theater.
The Savannah College of Art and Design will honor two-time Academy Award-winner Michael Douglas and Emmy Award-winning journalist Charlie Rose at its milestone tenth annual Savannah Film Festival, Oct. 27--Nov. 3, 2007. SCAD will also present Lifetime Achievement Awards to noted thespian siblings Vanessa, Lynn and Corin Redgrave at the festival. The three actors, known for their award-winning roles both in film and on stage, have never been honored together in either the United States or their native Britain.
The Savannah College of Art and Design honored Academy Award-winner Tommy Lee Jones with a Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2006 Savannah Film Festival. Achievement Awards were also presented to award-winning director Walter Hill and screenwriter Guillermo Arriaga.
