The song follows a young man who like many of our relatives was forced to leave the state of Panjab and his family because it had become polluted with corruption, bribery and murder. He looks back in horror and curses the government of Delhi for destroying his homeland and forcing him to dwell in a country that is alien to him. The song's chorus 'Nee tu narkha nu javeh delhi diya sarkare' quite simply translated is 'for your atrocities against the minorities Indian government, hell is where you belong', a direct and damning statement to the Indian establishment from the state of Punjab, once lauded by India for being the sword arm and bread basket of India. A ground breaking song that has galvanized many of our elders by rekindling their memories of torture, murder and disappearances in Panjab.
