Hmm, Its been a long time since I uploaded anything on here. I was listening to this song and the guitar riff in the verse had me hypnotized. Its soo amazingly groovy. Though it is very simple, I could play it all day and it wouldn't be tiring. So I decided to film me having fun. I wasn't trying to be faithful to the original...I can never match it. I mixed my own idiosyncracies here and there...missed stuff in places. However, the overall motivation was to have fun and I must admit, I had sooo much of it!!! Thank You Jars of Clay for an amazing song.

I was listening to Pillar's Reckoning album where a guitar layering effect was used in the second half of the little interlude, "Elysian". When mucking about with my Zoom G2, I discovered this cool effect where the same result can be achieved without two guitars playing at tandem. I show it in the video.

Me messing around with my new amp, the Vox DA20. Its got 2 x 8" speakers, which looks really cool imo. I played throughout the whole video with the neck GFS lil killer (about 7 kohms) in a crafter strat copy. I would rate this pickup as a perfect blues pickup as it really shines in the Blues settings of the amp. In the video, I indicate what amp setting I'm playing in by way of annotations.

I kept the gain at 10 past 12'O Clock and master volume about quarter of the way up with a little reverb and the power amp wattage is set at 0.5 watts. The sound you hear is not picked up by the camera mic, rather I used the line out from the back of the amp to the mic in jack in the camera. Be assured that the background hiss you hear is the cameras fault and is not heard when recording in my PC or playing through the amp.

Btw I'm only messing around and I know I still suck at guitar. Oh well, more practice is needed.....

PS: The amp doesn't have a proper EQ, it has a tone knob which works very much like the one in my strat. That being said, I don't miss it much.
