A little over a year ago, we were on the road touring, our school tour, some of you might know, and some crazy stuff started happening to me, i started losing weight, i started uh, drinking alot of water all the time, and i was having a really bad attitude that wasnt me. My parents brought me to the doctor, and uh, i found out that i had diabetes, type 1, and my bloodsugar was over 700, for those of you who dont know normal is anywhere between 70 and 120. And finding out was crazy because I really had no idea what it was. And the first thing i asked was "Am I gonna die?" and the doctor said no you'll be fine but you have to go to the hospital for a couple days. So i went to the hospital and went through extensive training of what diabetes was and how to manage it and take care of it and all that stuff and it was crazy, a crazy time. I started learning how to manage it, I started going on tour. It was, it was the veronicas tour, we were on the bus on tour and I was taking shots all the time and checking my sugar 12 times a day, it was getting really hard to, to do these shots and to manage all that. But then I heard about this new product that came out, called the omnipod. And the omnipod changed my life. It was crazy. As some of you know about that time I probally looked a little more thin, I lost 15 pounds in two weeks. I only weighed about 115 pounds, so it's not cool. But um, you know my brothers were there for me the whole time, my parents, and all you guys were there. So, thank you. The day that i got out of the hospital, we had a show in Monclare New Jersey, a small little club (?). And uh, that was the day after, so it was right after that. The day after i got diagnosed I decided I wasn't gonna let it slow me down. And I know all of you guys out there that have diabetes, let me see all of you guys, you know you all have your own story. Everyone hear has their own story of what went down and how you managed it and all that. Im just so blessed to be able to share mine with you today. Yeah, so I wanna encourage all of you guys just to be positive about it. At the beginning I was asking myself "Why me?" then I started asking "Why not me?" I could be hear today telling you guys, that through all that i made it through. Here today, singing, and having fun. And to encourage you to keep your positive. I got the name sometimes Mr.Positive just because, it's all about the people that found out and they said I've always got a smile on my face about it. Thank you guys, so much.
