Samira Said the diva of arabic music and the moroccan songstress (Arabic: سميرة سعيد‎ (native name: Samira Ben saïd)) (born January 10, 1960) is an Arabic singer. She was born and raised in Rabat, Morocco. Samira lives in Cairo, Egypt with her son "Shadi" .
Early life
Born in Rabat, Morocco, Samira began singing at an early age. She grew up in Rabat in Morocco was praised for her beauty and charming personality. Her parents realized this and they began entering her in singing competitions. Always a favorite of the judges, she often won, and launched her professional singing career from this. Soon after she was the most popular singer in the country.
However, she decided to move to Egypt so she could make a major impact on the entire Arab world. Many producers took her on and she began crafting songs, and recording many Arab favorites.
About Me:

With 30 albums to her credit in the Middle East, Samira Said is a certified superstar there, and this, her debut American release, gives the west a chance to discover her. It's actually a total makeover for the Moroccan-born superstar who's made her home in Egypt for over 20 years, not just in her look, but also in her music. And the result? Well, if the idea of '80s electro taken to Egypt appeals to you, you'll be a happy bunny. The title cut pairs her with rai star Cheb Mami for an appealing piece of music, but from there it's largely downhill. "Ezzay Aheb" has hip-hop overtones; "Dahakteni" works at updating the sound of Arab traditional (i.e., classical) music, with mixed results; while "Ehsasi" is the kind of emotional ballad (with massed female voices soft in the background) that's best suited for Celine Dion. A big part of the problem throughout is that Saeed simply doesn't have a distinctive voice. She can sing well enough, but you'd be hard-pressed to pick out her voice from a thousand others. And the material? Perhaps it plays well in Cairo, but in the U.S. it's just not going to cut it. Add to that liner notes where only the song titles (and lyrics to one song that doesn't appear to even be on the disc) are in English, and you're not exactly being consumer-friendly -- an ideal way to shoot yourself in the foot.

Sounds Like:
The Madonna of the Arab world is what her fan like to call her. This is due to her ever changing style and image in her music and appearance. To many, this may seem like a negative thing; however, in Said's case it is hardly so.

Hi! Unfortunately, it seems to me, that is not too much fans here. I think due to culture difference. I knew about her due to Eurovision Song Contest. I liked her perfomance and song and was interested in her. She is super). Also arab language is different and interesting.
