Press Quotes:

"...this thrash/progressive power
trio is gaining recognition as a serious act, not just some band with a
hot-looking chick drummer."

-Charlie Steffens, Metal Edge Magazine

"One of the most exciting bands to emerge out of the local extreme metal scene... meshing in all sorts of musical styles ranging from death metal, punk rock, and beyond."
"Rusty Eye has created a distinct sound that fascinates the audience with their virtuoso musicianship and wildly unpredictable playing."

-Ken Morton, HIGHWIRE DAZE Magazine

"...not half bad, was thrashy outfit: Rusty Eye, showcasing blond drummer-throatster (and Britney Spears look-alike) Miss Randall."

-Greg Burk, L.A. TIMES

"For an odd few moments this reminded me of the very first time I had heard Marilyn Manson, not that these bands sound at all alike but in that I knew I was hearing something very different but something that could find a nice home in a few thousand black adolescent hearts."

~John Boden, Tartarean Desire

"...this is horror rock in a "what if Mike Patton joined the Murderdolls?" (or "what if Sonic Youth turned nasty?") kind of a way."

~Voltcase.Co.UK

RUSTY EYE is:

"Mr. Rust" (bass/vocals)
"Miss Randall" (drums/vocals/production)
"Baron Murtland" (guitars)

Rusty Eye is a Prog Metal Hollywood-based band with a signature sound that blends together different metal styles with a touch of horror. Rusty Eye has over 13 years of being an independent establishment, coming to life under times of political stress in the Mexico City in 1995 (a rather bizarre place for an American band to be based, but also influential in the band's search for new sounds).
As members of the Mexican underground metal scene, they played multiple shows and music festivals alike, but their vision would come full circle in 2004, having to relocate to their native country by the way of Hollywood,CA. *the farewell show in Mexico City's legendary Rockotitlan is up on this video channel.

And thus, Rusty Eye's evolution throughout the years has been moving strategically and prolifically forward. They are well known locally and abroad as a hard working band, never yielding to transient trends or fads. As a result, Rusty Eye has independently produced and 12 demo releases since 1995 and 4 album releases under since 2001: Rust 'n Roll, Cryogenic, Live at the Joint, and Stendhal Syndrome.

::A new release entitled "POSSESSOR" is in the works due this 2008, next to "Rust n' Roll Over Again. Vol 1" EP::

Hard work and dedication has been recognized by the local press and music industry publications, ranking on Music Connection's Industry list of "Top 100 unsigned bands of 2006", being recipients of "Best Heavy Metal Single of the Year" (LA Music Awards 2006), "Best Male Bass Player 2006" and "Best Female Drummer 2005" (by LA Magazine "Rock City News"). In addition, female drummer Miss Randall was a semi-finalist at NAMM 07's "World's Fastest Drummer Competition".

To this date Rusty Eye has played non-stop in and around the vicinities of Los Angeles and Mexico City. In this channel, you'll be able to see live footage of shows performed in places like "Rockotitlan" (Mexico City), The Knitting Factory Hollywood, and The Whisky a Go Go, amongst others.

A significant accomplishment for the band was the filming of the music video "Mr. Cannibal" in 2007. This video was a high-budget sponsored production, filmed on 16 mm. in the style of Grindhouse B-Movies; it portrays the story behind the explicitly lyrical song. It was directed and co-produced by Alejandro Ordonez, with a talented crew of film industry luminaires, including Bryan Robbins and Eric Leach (Cabin Fever). The poster illustration was made by Stephen Romano (www.shockfestival.net) and the its design was done by Mr. Rust (LIMITED EDITION 18 X 24 POSTERS are on sale for only 10 bucks plus shipping)

MUSIC is available at the band's shows and their entire discography is available through Cdbaby.Com and multiple popular online stores and services such as: Apple iTunes, Napster, Rhapsody, Sony Connect, Zune, MSN Music, PayPlay, Last.fm, CD Baby, Yahoo! Music.

"Rusty Eye is a band that clearly thrives in the live environment. There's no other way to explain just how much more vibrant the band's songs are when played in a live setting, not that they were even remotely approaching sterile on the recordings. The music just seems to come alive, with tracks accelerating from merely uptempo to a frantic punk rock pace, complete with robust drum performance and stuttering tremolo riffs bursting every which way. There's an undeniable aura of energy around these three (and sometimes four) performers, crafting their unique style of progressive rock/metal out of handfuls of jazzy power chords and gruffly barked vocals.

The six-song set delivers some classics of the Rusty Eye catalog, including 'Birds Of Prey', 'Crionic Suspension', and 'Return Of The Scarecrow'. All the elements that define Rusty Eye are pushed to the limit here: the stop-start rhythms, the acrobatic guitar and bass work, and the perpetually shifting textures of drums and vocals are all made even more extreme and jarring than before. The increased speed does wonders for jacking up the intensity of the music; everything feels more savage and pounding than before, with the members playing almost too quickly to stay in time with each other before falling back into pace with a cascading tom fill. The band channels everything from psychedelic rock to thrash metal in this set, changing gears in a gliding, artful fashion that few other artists match.

Rusty Eye manages to capture the power of songs like 'Certain Death' stunningly well in the live setting, so much that it nearly makes the recorded albums pale in comparison. While their albums are powerful entities in their own right, the live performances of Rusty Eye have a primal, assaulting quality that takes their songs to an entirely new musical and artistic level. Savage."
