Com ironia e bom humor, Som e Fúria mostrará o dia-a-dia de duas companhias de teatro - uma, bem sucedida, é dirigida por Oliveira (Pedro Paulo Rangel), na qual atua Elen (André Beltrão), e a outra, falida, por Dante (Felipe Camargo).
O elenco conta no elenco ainda com Dan Stulbach, Daniel Oliveira, Regina Cazé, Gero Camilo, Rodrigo Santoro, Maria Flor, Chris Couto, Débora Falabella e Paulo Betti.
A minissérie é uma co-produção da Globo em parceria com a produtora independente O2 Filmes (a mesma de filmes como Cidade dos Homens), e é uma adaptação da série canadense Slings and Arrows, que retrata os bastidores de uma companhia de teatro que interpreta obras de Shakespeare.
Som e Fúria é dirigida por Fernando Meirelles. Gisele Barroco, Toniko Mello, Fabrizia Pinto e Rodrigo Meirelles também assinam a direção dos capítulos.
