VJ ROMVAESN is a visual artist situated in norway, inspired by travelling the world and making visuals of whatever he encounters.

- Romvaesn early on devleoped a passion for travelling. He fell deeply in love with the freedom and his loyal travel partner, his digital video camera. Many other exotic destinations followed over the years to come. Together with his gf, he visited many different places, from the furthest outskirts of South East Asia to the urban metropolitan super cities of Tokyo and Beijing. This enriched his love and understanding for global clubbing culture and the international electronic music scene. Travelling so far and so often also gave him the unique opportunity to collect enormous amounts of exceptional video footage. The Tokyo music scene opened his doorway for minimal techno which together with ambient and leftfield soundscapes where to become his main audiovisual playground. After many years of heavy travelling he decided to settle down on a small farm in the beautiful surroundings of Selbu in Norway. With the fundament of this many different creative aspects, he decided to put them all together by developing his vj-artwork. The long and expensive process of building a visual studio of both hardware and software slowly began. In the Norwegian city of Trondheim he started cooperating events together with the electronic music, net-based collective called www.beatfoundation.com , which consists of local producers, djs and promoters. He also worked closely together with noise, distortion and break-core acts, including artist and concept names such as http://swampsupnostrils.tek... This resulted in many unforgettable visual performances on a variety of small underground non-profit club-nights and concerts. In 2007 he decided to start his own alternative music-festival at the perfect location of his own farm in Selbu, with the ironic name of stoypalandet.net, which means noise in the country in Norwegian. This gave him the opportunity to make contact with many other groundbreaking artists from around the world, by booking sub cultural acts from other countries. In 2007 Romvaesn was also booked to perform on one of Norways major music festivals, slottsfjellfestival.no. 2008 has been a great year artistically for Romvaesn. Things have really started to kick off with many VJ gigs in Oslo. Being discovered by the guys, who run the club-concept myspace.com/upopulaer, has helped him to create a platform in the capitol of Norway. Being signed up to work with the ohlalaparty.com , also gave him the opportunity to perform alongside artists such as myspace.com/graemesinden, myspace.com/etiennedecrecy edbangerrecords.com. During 2008 hes also been continuing his work with støy på landet by pulling of yet another great festival on the 19/20 of June.
