In 2009 the skyline at Kings Island changed forever when they added the tallest and fastest roller coaster in the park's history - Diamondback. Standing 230 feet tall and reaching speeds of 80 miles per hour, Kings Island billed Diamondback as "the tallest, fastest and meanest roller coaster ever."

Diamondback was the first B&M roller coaster in the USA to use the open-air stadium style seating and the layout features 10 drops, two helixes, a hammerhead turn and a splashdown finale all packed into a mile of track. Diamondback covers 10 acres of land, cost $22 million to build and is Kings Island's 15th roller coaster.

Star Wars: Jedi Training Academy is a live show that takes place daily at Disney's Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World.

Children are selected from the audience to become one of 25 Padawans invited to don a brown robe and pledge the Jedi oath. Under the tutelage of the Jedi master the young Padawans begin to learn to use their lightsabers.

But there is a disturbance in the force and soon Stormtroopers appear and secure the area. Just when it seems the worst is over Darth Vader himself appears and the youngsters in training must use their newly learned skills against him and resist the dark side.

This is part two of two.

You land right in the middle of a pirate battle, see Captain Barbosa demand the capture of Jack Sparrow, pass through a craibbean town being plundered by pirates all searching for the treasure,meet even more pirates as they sing their jaunty theme, "Yo Ho, Yo Ho, A Pirate's Life For Me"

You'll meet wily wenches and salty marauders and find out in the end who gets treasure.

I'm not sure this ride entirely translates to video - it's pretty dark throughout much of the ride. I also apologize for a few moments where the focus on my camera wanders. I forgot to lock the focus before we boarded. The first minute or two is mostly dark with sound because, well, the ride is mostly dark for the first two minutes. Still a good video and nice HD look at the ride.

Become a junior space ranger and join Buzz Lightyear in a battle against the evil Emperor Zurg!

Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin is a neat video game inspired attraction at the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World that's been entertaining guests since 1998. Board your XP-37 Space Cruiser for an interactive ride though 10 different scenes where you use your light blaster to hit targets and score points while helping stop Emperor Zurg from stealing batteries from helpless toys to power his weapon of ultimate destruction. When it's all over with, you're even assigned a rank based on your performance during the ride.

Join Captain Jack Sparrow and his faithful shipmate Mack as they teach a few lucky children (and the audience) the ways of the salty, sword wielding pirate.

This show takes place daily near the Pirates of the Caribbean ride in Adventureland at Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom. It's a great little show that's full of humor and it draws quite a crowd. Included in this video is the bulk of the show - all that has been excluded is a short intro and the choosing of the children to participate.

Santa's Land in Cherokee, North Carolina is the kind of place where you can find the Christmas spirit the entire year. On our trip in July we picked up some Christmas memorabilia, saw some elves, met Santa and took a few laps on the world-famous Rudicoaster.

The red nosed reindeer himself leads the way on this powered coaster that offers fun for the whole family. This video shows the Rudicoaster in action on that warm July day.

In September of 2008, Carowinds announced a new coaster for 2009 - Carolina Cobra. Exciting news to be sure, but the new coaster was going to be taking the place of the park's Flying Super Saturator coaster.

The Flying Super Saturator was a first-of-its-kind coaster from Setpoint. Added to the Carowinds lineup in 2000, the riders glide along suspended from the track above while being bombarded by various interactive water elements controlled by onlookers around the ride. As retaliation, each 4-seat car is capable of dropping a payload of water on guests below. The whole thing made for an enjoyable experience for all involved.

Dismantling of the coaster began in August of 2008 and the ride was soon listed for sale. Flying Super Saturator is (was?) one of only two suspended water coasters in the world.

Enjoy this look back at Flying Super Saturator as it stood just a month before its removal began.
