Hi Zach,

sorry for the delay up front. In my opinion the D-16Gt is a very versatile guitar because it has a medium-to light attack on the one hand but is yet strong enough to not overdrive or distort when flatpicked. But you have to like the sound of a 14fret dreadnought. It is not as sweet and delicate as a 000 would be.

One of the cons some people claim is the fact that the d16 gt features a micarta fretboard and bridge. Micarta is an artificial compound material containing wood fibre .....
reverendbecker (11 months ago)
and some sort of filler/glue. The material is hard and black and reminds to ebony of the highest qualitiy. I do not care, I like the looks and the playability. Second con for some people is the way the neck is attatched to the body. It is a mortise-and-tenon joint glued together and additionally fixed tith a screw ....... arghh .. ! Some purists would only accept a dovetail neck joint like the more expansive Martins have. But I don't care either. Most of my guitars feature a srewed mortise and tenon joint and I bet that most of the purists could not tell the difference to a traditinal dovetail neck joint in a blindfold test.

Hello, I've been watching some of your videos. I really like the DADGAD medleys.

How do you like your Martin D-16gt? I'm strongly considering getting one.
Pro's and con's?
