if the only deterrent to crime was the fear of God's wrath, something which we've never seen or experienced, then things would be a lot more chaotic. In the bible God has more of a role, and he's constantly involved - smiting people, committing acts of genocide (the flood) and other random acts of violence. What's odd is that God doesn't seem to be doing any of that anymore, he won't even grace us with his/her presence - either God doesn't exist, or she's given up on us and left for greener pastures.

My bet's on the former.

There's something called Laws and Rules, and Norms. These are things that are ingrained in just about everyone, although everyone interprets it differently. You get them from things like school, your parents, authorities like police, media, etc. The fear of going to jail and being raped by prisoners can do wonders to keep a man (or woman) from committing crimes like murder, or theft.

But in other cases you have people who interpret these rules differently, and in those cases you have people who commit crimes like rape, murder and theft, or serial killings. People often come up with ways to rationalize such crimes, with excuses like "I steal music because it's too expensive", or "I stabbed that guy because he owed me money". Anyways what I'm trying to say is that it's physical threats in the here and now that prevent us from doing such crimes, without it your and my world would be in chaos.

So how does an atheist rule his own life? If there's was no law, would they just go around fucking kids, raping mothers, killing people? I just don't understand how morality works for an atheist. Because if you don't face punishment after life, then you can pretty much do whatever the fuck you want.
In other words, I wouldn't trust an atheist to take care of my dog, let alone take care of my kids or drive the bus with 30+ people

Your favourites seem to be entirely devoted to the Judeo-Christian religion.

Last i've read there are slightly over 100 000 000 "radicalized" Muslims in the world according to Jon Esposito.

Though all religions should be held to the same scrutiny, I noticed in the trailer George W. Bush being shown saying "I believe God wants everyone to be free". I failed to see how that was negative, I wish all religious people believed this. Those 100 000 000 radicals I mentioned, believe God wants everyone (including non-Muslims) to live under totalitarianism.

Of course I realize any film criticizing Islam, and not other religions aswell would be labeled "racist" or "Islamophobic" and "biased", while at the same time putting the lives of the filmmakers in danger.

A film criticizing Christians, unlike a film critizing Muslims, doesn't require any real bravery, or intellectual courage, but is necessary nonetheless.

I find it so funny that the people who use the words "the truth" are the ones often farthest from it. Believing in "any" of the few hundrend gods is religulous!

Cheers!
