ABRI has just landed after an outstanding showcase at the Blue Frog in Mumbai, India. The band had an exciting two days of back to back gigs at one of the world's top 10 best night clubs in the world, as rated by the Independent, UK. "The venue is one of the most amazing venues I've ever seen, the sound system sparkled, the staff were super cool, the people of Mumbai were warm and responsive; we had a blast! When's the next flight out?" said Julian Symes from ABRI.
Emmanuele de Decker programming, label and artist manamgement had this to say "ABRI's gigs at Blue Frog were great! Their music is filled with energy and happiness. The singer's voice is so powerful and fascinating that you get into the groove, and it puts a big smile on everyone's face.
Only one problem: one gets so upset when they get off the stage.

Dubai's soul band "ABRI" is working hard to bring you their second album "Blank Notes". The highly anticipated album will be in stores on May 20th, 2009. ABRI's promotional week is jam packed with exclusive interviews, radio releases, media and performances.
To set off the week, Radio 1 will be doing an exclusive promotional week with the band including CD and concert giveaways, interviews, plus ABRI will be hosting dj Schooly's Soulful Session Live on Radio 1 on Saturday May 16th from 4-7pm. The boys will be giving you the listeners a sneak peak of the album, and will take you through what has influenced and inspired them over the years.
Also, ABRI will be doing an in-store signing media hour at Virgin MOE on May 20th from 5-6pm, and to top it off the boys are having a LIVE public release party at Alpha Night Club located inside Le Meridien Hotel,Garhoud, Dubai .The night will be showcasing the bands album, with special featured guest Jawad and Dj Schooly and Da:Funct on the 1s and 2s.
"We are so grateful for all of the support the UAE has given us, we couldn't be more excited about this CD release and can't wait to take it to the top" says Hamdan Al-ABRI.
About the band:
MTV Europe Music Awards '08 Nominee ABRI, described as 'the best original band Dubai has ever seen' (Time Out). Their powerful blend of Soul, Jazz and R&B resonates throughout the region.
The Dubai-based band is built on the soulful union of vocalist Hamdan Al Abri and keyboardist Julian Symes, and is fleshed out with the musical styling of bassist Rami Lakkis and drummer Andre Atherley. ABRI has been seen performing internationally in the UK at the Vibe Bar, Monkey Chews, Jazz Talent, and have performed in Dubai and Bahrain sharing the stage with Kanye West, Mika, Joss Stone, Ziggy Marley, Arrested Development, Chicane, Shaggy and Kelly Rowland.
Recently, ABRI recorded their new album at the "Fortress Studio" London, England. The highly anticipated CD will be ready for release in stores on May 20th, 2009.
