It is truly astonishing to see the Commissioner of Public Works shining a laser pointer at a video camera lens in a public meeting. Besides being childish and beneath the dignity of an elected official, this repeated behavior is reckless and probably dangerous. A Google search on "dangers of laser pointers" yields 107,000 hits, including , onm the first page of results, warning articles posted by the Mayo Clinic and the FDA. So think about it, folks: Here's your DPW Commissioner, shining a laser out into the audience., and chuckling at his own cleverness. It is simply not possible to guarantee that you do not accidentally shine the laser directly into the eye of an innocent bystander when carrying on this way. Perhaps Saratogians need to think about this behavior and express their opinion in the voting booth?
