Sound check just before performing at the Alminar School in Dos Hermanas, Sevilla -Spain-

The Bluemooners or The Urano Blues Band http://www.myspace.com/uranobl uesband, are a newly formed band formed by Fran Martin on the upright bass, Guillermo Martin on the drums, Enrique Ojeda on the lead/rhythm guitar and vocals, and Raul Cabezali on the lead/rhythm guitar and vocals.
With special stress on the blues -hence our name-, our repertoire is made up of blues, country and rock'n'roll tunes from the 50s to the 90s.

Handcrafted long-neck banjo raulin - 437 views - 2 months ago
This is a long-neck banjo which has been handmade by my band mate Manolo Garrido. Everything's handmade, except for the metal parts: weaverly tuners, tubaphone-like Czech Rep. made one-piece tone ring, and tailpiece (can't remember its make).
I particularly like it's smooth, incredibly resonating neck.
It's a loaner, and I'll have it home for a few days only, so I wanted to keep record of its sound and looks.

Please, check out our tunes in

Sorry for my crappy playing! Thanks for watching!

Hootenanny in Parque del Alamillo:

Long live Pete Seeger! Come and celebrate Pete Seeger's 90th Birthday with us next 3rd May in Parque del Alamillo!

Larga vida a Pete Seeger!

Dudley Moore Beethoven Sonata Parody jondiners... - 566,900 views - 2 years ago
In this clip from the 1950's-60s British comedy group "Beyond the Fringe," Dudley Moore plays a very funny but also very musically well-done parody of a Beethoven Piano Sonata, using the famous whistling tune from "Bridge Over the River Kwai" as a thematic subject.

My songs in Soundclick.

Someone suggested that I should shoot a video comparing my 99' Fender Telecaster Standard MIM (less than $500) with stock pickups and electronics, and my Japanese Les Paul Edwards LP90-LTS (about $800)with stock pickups (Seymour Duncans)and electronics. So, here is it.
Amping: I'm playing through my Marshall Bluesbreaker OD pedal direct into my V-Amp2 amp modeller ('Still got the blues' preset) and over an Eb blues backing track.
Check guitarbt dot com for backing tracks like this one.

Danke und Grüße!

Impro over a backingtrack raulin - 2,353 views - 1 year ago
My newly tubed twin amp at its best.

The amp is in 15 Watt mode (triode mode less two power amp tubes) and in the clean channel at slightly less than 3/4 volume...

Hear how this tonal beast breaks as you crank it up and how nicely it cleans as you roll off the volume of the guitar!!

About Me: 'Raulin de los Bosques' is just my own nickname. My colleagues at work used to call me by that name because 'Raulin' sounds similarly to 'Robin' in Spanish. 'Raulin de los Bosques' could be understood as a rough phonetic translation of 'Robin of Sherwood'.

I started playing the guitar with seventeen. My first guitar was a Spanish nylon string, an Admira 'Sevilla' model. As soon as I was confident with barrè chords I felt I was ready to show my talent to the world, so that I bought a cheap strat copy and shortly after joined the pop-rock band 'Malasombra'.

This band gained some local relevance, and so we managed to gig all
around the province of Seville as openers for some heavy-weight top-40 bands of the time like 'Los
Ilegales' or 'La Union' and 'La Guardia'. A few years later, together with my bandmate Dani de Lemus, I started a new band called 'Canal Blues' where I played lead and rhythm guitar and did some vocals.

At the moment, I play the bass, the guitar and some mandolin in the folk-americana band 'Nadzhir'.

I'd always been fascinated by bluegrass banjo since I listened to the record 'Banjo Paris Session' when I was about 15.

Last year I bought a cheap banjo and started practicing the rolls so feverishly that my family cried basta in anguish and fear that I should drive them mad - I didn't know there existed something like a 'mute' for banjos, as I could learn thereafter -. Again - as it also happened when I was learning to play the guitar - as soon as I felt myself somewhat confident with the instrument, I decided to sell my cheapo banjo and acquire a new, good banjo - a Fender FB-58 -. I keep practicing on it, as feverishly as ever, and hope some day to be able to play half a quarter of an ounce as good as my bandmate Ramón Ramos.

Richard
