Thank you for your comment and it illustrates how many continue to be confused about the policy of the organization on abuse. The facts continue to show that there is no change in policy. The letter to which you refer was written in May 2002 as a reaction to the Dateline program. Carefully worded it made no admission of error and said a family could report. This has always been policy yet families continue to be silenced by elders at the direction of the Service Department and molesters enjoy the paradise of protection provided by the Governing Body. NO POLICY HAS CHANGED. Read their website the statement writtnd almost ten years ago is still up and has no changes. So if you decide to go back be vigilant to protect your children and act on your conscience not what the elders are directed to tell you.

Dear bill. Im a ex JW geting ready to rejoin the orgnization. I just wanted to tell u even though I beeen out 4 9yrs. I never stopped going to Kingdom Hall. & i agree with u that molesting children is WRONG!!! & Im a victim of child abuse. It wasnt anyone in the organization, but in the past 2 yrs the society has changed there policy. They even sent a letter to all congregations that a elder is to call the polce & report it to athorities if they hear a report of child abuse. So that means u should try & get reinstated & rejoin the orginization if ur upset with the child abuse policies. I agree with u. The old child abuse policy is wrong, but they changed it.

Gosh. I'm so glad I never got involved with this JW stuff. They sound real nasty especially judging by the nastiness in this comments by all their own members.

This is very appalling since a woman has been coming to my home and I considered having a Bible study with her. Finding this out made me cry because I used to ask Catholics how could they remain in a church that was covering up child rape? I said I could not. Now I have a decision to make. I'll have to investigate further and if this is true, then JWs can get lost.
