I'm on the other side of where the Kyle ends to the east and sadly their track isn't too good as the trains are limited to 5-10mph. I can't imagine how borring that would be for engineers to sit all day going what would should only take a few hrs if the track was in shape. They do get some fun at the end because they jump on the UP/SP mainline the last 10 miles and can crank it up for a few minutes anyway. I was wondering how they would be able to run a plow on that section of poor track (basicly from Beloit to Solomon, KS) if you can only do 5mph in spots, how would you pick up enough speed to get through if needed? The Kyle does have some engines painted but since they are a short line their money is probably better spent on something other than paint.
