Marhaba, Softvirus. Hollywood is a stereotype machine. I also think some films are made with intentional cultural or political messages. Other times, unintentional stereotypes appear, because of lazy writers/producers.

Yes Harvey, they're all well too.

Softvirus I think it is a deliberate action to paint Arabs and Muslims in a bad light as backward and violent. Look at who own the studios. Most of them are of Jewish decent and are admitted Zionists. Of course they want to paint Arabs/Muslims negatively!

good evening everyone.
i was just wondering how in this time we still see movies and TV series that show arab's as the people who still lives in the past with camels and tents in the desert.
and with cities build of clay bricks and dirty roads.
i wonder if its intended by the producers to give this distorted image abut us or its just a stupid common mistake.
with a huge amounts of money spent on the production of these movies and episodes i really dont think its a mistake...

what do you think?

How are you?
You're very much missed here!

I think the 700 club is just one of the many Christian groups who keep trying to drag our nation into a Christian ideology when it was founded away from any association with religious beliefs. The founding fathers took "good" from many different religions when they drew up the articles that our system is based upon.

The latter example is a political and religious ideology. Both in one shell. The Jews of Israel also have the same. Their laws are based upon the Talmud and Torah. If you are unfamiliar with their beliefs you will have a problem understanding their laws.

It becomes a "molotov cocktail" when a person who is not of their belief system tries to assimilate without knowing what they're getting into.

In a secular state I agree the two should be separate. Religious beliefs should not deter from deciding what is best for the people. The unpopular example I discussed with UssnThem was Roe v. Wade and the ability of a woman to choose and to get proper medical care whether or not she decides to proceed with the pregnancy. I am against abortion but I feel a woman has that right to decide. It is a decision a legislator with a strong affiliation with a religion might lean toward denying. A return to back alley abortions will be bad for "the people" in my opinion.

In a society that is of a religious nature, Saudia or Iran for example, are Muslim countries. Their laws are close to Sharia Law. A person of another belief system will have difficulty if they are unfamiliar with the religious nature of their laws. In this case they are linked and will not be separated.

Yes, mine are doing well. I haven't heard anything bad so I assume they're all healthy. LOL

I'm sorry I was unclear. As for Wafa Sultan I believe her claims are outrageous. She is not correct about things she says about Islam but then she looks for the negative and embellishes it. She and Hirsi Ali both claim that CULTURAL practices are ISLAMIC. This is wrong and is never challenged when they're interviewed. The only interview I've seen where Sultan was challenged was Ibrahim al-Khouly, a professor at Al-Azhar University in Cairo on Al Jazeera. watch?v=3pEeOX7u790

True, unfortunately, the 700 club does not agree; hence the mess we're in now.
