Strong and powerful storyline in GH which follows Monica's journey in discovering she has breast cancer, her surgery, chemo, her setbacks and the effect this had on Alan and her relationship with Alan. Powerful performances by Leslie Charleson and Stuart Damon.

1983 marked the first days of Robert Scorpio as the Police Commissioner of Port Charles. This storyline, considered one of the best in General Hospital history, involved most of the cast in one capacity or another. Susan Moore Baldwin teams up with Crane Tolliver, Lila's first husband, to blackmail the Quartermaines. Things don't go as smoothly as she planned it and she's murdered. This three month storyline follows Robert, helped by his married of convenience wife Holly, as they try to solve the murder. It also follows the Quartermaines as they desparately try to hide the secret that threatens their financial security.

In 1985, the followup storyline to the Aztec Treasure was the Asian Quarter storyline. It featured the introduction of Robin Scorpio and the redemption of Sean Donely. Robert, Anna, Frisco, Felicia and Sean fight the Asian mob in order to protect Robin and to help the Asian citizens of Port Charles fight oppression and virtual slavery.
