RECAP: Golden State Warriors 2009 NBA Draft Party with Stephen Curry [HD] shaunmtai - 1,599 views - 1 week ago
Exclusive SHAUN TAI Films (in HD, High Definition) coverage of the Golden State Warriors 2009 Draft Party that took place Thursday, June 25, 2009 at the Gordon Biersch Brewery on 2 Harrison Street in the heart of the City, San Francisco, California.

The FREE event featured a special Q&A with Stephen Curry, the Warriors 2009 draft pick, the beautiful Warriors Girls, raffle prizes and much more!

The Warriors selected Curry with the No. 7 pick in the NBA draft Thursday, adding a pure shooter to the mix for a youthful franchise committed to returning to the playoffs in the powerful Western Conference.

"He's a guy who's going to fit in quite nicely with the style of play here," said new Golden State general manager Larry Riley, who was pleasantly surprised Curry hadn't already been chosen. "I was concerned at one time that we might not be able to get him. I thought he might go ahead of us but as the draft turned out, it came to our favor."

About GB: "Fresh, hand crafted beer and premium, made from scratch food... all served up in a friendly and fun atmosphere - that's what the Gordon Biersch experience is all about."

It all started with the dream of two passionate guys named Dan Gordon and Dean Biersch. This dream of exceptional beer and delicious food became a reality on July 6, 1988 when the first Gordon Biersch opened in Palo Alto, California. Acquired by Big River Brewing Company in 1999, Gordon Biersch now has 27 locations in 16 states and Washington D.C. The Gordon Biersch heritage of superior beer, great food and good times are now served up fresh daily in locations stretching coast to coast and across the Pacific to Honolulu.

Ray Luv is an American rapper from the San Francisco Bay Area. Here, Ray Luv raps "Rap was like Fax Machines" and relates it to the Social Data Revolution.

Ray Luv performed with Tupac Shakur in the group Strictly Dope. Early in his career, Luv was signed to the independent labels Strictly Business and Young Black Brotha. Raised in West Ninth Street in Santa Rosa California.Ray Luv has stated that he got his name from Tupac Shakur, and that his original name was MC Roc.

His first album Who Can Be Trusted was released in 1993 by Mac Dre's record label Strictly Business. "Get Your Money On" from Trusted was popular on local radio at the time. Forever Hustlin', released in 1995 by Atlantic Records through the Bay Area label Young Black Brotha run by Khayree, was his major label debut; it reached #39 on the Billboard Top R&B/Hip Hop Albums chart. That same year, Luv was featured on the soundtrack to the film New Jersey Drive.

In 1997, Luv contributed to the Bay Area rap compilation Khayree Brings You the Blackalation from the Young Black Brotha label. In 2009, Ray Luv and partner Emcee T founded PTBTV Records, his current label.

In the last year, your location and personal medical information have become the latest streams in the river of data, joining email, clicks, searches, social networking, and buying patterns. Gathering, sharing, and storing data has become trivial. But what shall we collect, and what applications can we build that users really need?

Data mining is no longer the process of digging through data morgues to uncover scraps of still-viable information. Success in the online marketplace now hinges on people and the data they create. E-business is no longer about selling books.

Message from Andreas Weigend: "I study people and the data they create. I was the Chief Scientist at Amazon.com, where I specialized in understanding how people behave online, helping Amazon build its customer-centric, measurement-focused culture. I now advise exciting startups and consult for established firms including Alibaba, Best Buy, Lufthansa, MySpace, and Nokia, helping some of the most brilliant entrepreneurs and executives around the world leverage user data to create innovative products and business models. I also teach at Stanford and UC Berkeley, and I am often invited to speak at international events. For more information about me please visit: http://weigend.com/"

Vital - Have You Seen Her [PTBTV RAW TALENT] Rap Music Video (MV) in HD High Definition pushinthebay - 1,659 views - 5 months ago

Artist: Vital, Song Title: Have You Seen Her, Album Title: N/A (2009), Label: Wash House Music

Used with permission and video courtesy Wash House Music. *Audio is out of sync due to upload/processing via YouTube.

"Vital is a youngster fresh off the turf. Born & raised in the infamous Vallejo California Crestside neighborhood, better known as "The Crest". To say an artist is a product of their environment is cliche, but in Vitals case it is prophetic. Growing up in the same neighborhood that produced Mac Dre, Mac Mall, Dubee, Thizz Nation and one of the birth places of the Hyphy movement, put Vital in the right place at the right time.

Vital is the next generation to come up after these now legendary factors. Recognized by his predecessors as a bright talent, led him to work with these artists at a very young age. Displaying equal promise as both a rapper and a singer, earned him notoriety in his hood and beyond. Vitals career began at the age of 14 when Mac Dre's partner and cofounder of Thizz Ent. started a new label to showcase Vitals unique talent. That company is called Wash-House Music. Vital has been recording non-stop ever since, having completed hundreds of songs. He has been fortunate to record with a slew of multi-platinum artists including Snoop Dogg, The Game, E-40, Juvenile, Lloyd, Lil' Scrappy and many many more. Vitals current independent release is titled "Failure Is Not An Option".

This album has earned him attention and support from both Jay-Z and Snoop Dogg. Vital represents the future of Bay Area music and urban music on the whole. Clever lyrics and beautiful melodies combined with tons of character and confidence equal the whole package. Give him one look and a listen and you'll see why Vital is called "The best kept secret"."

Artist: Mainy Mike featuring Tha K.Y.D. & Turf Talk, Song Title: We On, Album Title: N/A (2009), Video Director: Rapshack Films

Used with permission and video courtesy Rapshack Films.

"Mainy Mike is a Oakland-born rapper that has upper management written all over him. He came up in East Oakland where he learned his hustle and got his swag. Although Oakland may have a bad reputation, Mainy turned his negative experiences into positive ones. Mike got the name Mainy Mike from a co-worker Chi, at a bay area radio station. He was named Mainy Mike because he is so outgoing. "I do what's fun to me and that's how I get down. I don't like alot of drama around me," says Mainy. The 24 year old artist, got his start at the age of 12.

He started in a group with his little brother Young B. The group was a success, but as they grew in age they just went there separate ways. No hurt feelings between the two, you can find Young B on the song "We In Here." That will be on the debut Mainy Mike album set to drop in September 09. In high school Mainy played basketball and football, he also developed a sports mentality that he eventually brought to the rap game. "In a game, I will not stop, I don't care if it's smackin the quarterback, or going dumb on the sideline.

That's how I'm gone play this Hip-Hop game, fast and I wont stop dropping hit after hit," he says. "I'm an opportunist. If I get an opportunity to do something, It's done." Fittingly, his signature word is "Numf" — a term he says stands for a sucka, or a person who is fake. "We On" is the first single off Mainy debut album "Who is Mainy Mike." The single features Turf Talk, a bay area rapper also the cussin of E40. The single also features KYD, also a bay area rapper and the cussin of Mainy Mike. The song "We On was made for the streets," says Mainy.

"We can make all the songs in the world, but if I don't keep it real and take it back to where I come from then it don't mean nothing." Not just a one hit wonder the whole album is a hit. Mainy ENT is something more to add to the already long list of things that Mainy Mike can do. He is the CEO of Mainy ENT. The label includes super producer Z, the first lady of Mainy ENT Krys, and the boss lady Tierra-Latte'. Mainy is building this label from the ground up. "Running a label/entertainment company is not as easy as it looks, it takes dedication.

I'm a artist as well as the CEO, so I have alot resting on me" says Mainy. The label was founded in 2005 by Mainy, and it has truly grown since then. After Bay Area DJs broke one of Mainy's songs on their mix shows, local radio stations got an onslaught of listener requests. Within weeks Mainy was, and still is a hot topic in the bay. Mainy Mike has been featured in magazines, albums, and has been featured on many shows with big figures in the game. Performances include on stage appearances with Kafani, Too Short, Keak da sneak, Turf Talk, D-lo, Young B, and The Pack. Just to name a few. If you haven't seen a Mainy show you dont know what your missing. The energy he brings to the stage is dynamic.

He also has been featured on com-cast, Ozcatradio.com, 106.1 kmel, and many more tv, and radio stations. Mainy's out to make club bangers, Street anthems, Love tunes, and that ryder music. He is taking no prisiners."Who is Mainy Mike" is the title of his debut album. He intends on selling 15,000 copys in the first three weeks. Thats a big goal, but Mainy is fully prepared to put in all the extra work nessisarry to make it happen. Many plans ..ping four or five songs as singles, to keep it real the whole album is filled with singles."

Digital Underground PTBTV LIVE SHOW (I Got 5 On It SHOCK G Money B) - PUSHIN' THE BAY pushinthebay - 4,121 views - 1 year ago
PTBTV aka PUSHIN' THE BAY TV EXCLUSIVE performance footage of Digital Underground in San Francisco, California on 2/22/08. Watch as Shock G and Money-B perform songs such as I Got 5 On It (Remix), Same Song w/ 2Pac, Doowutchyalike, and more!

Yeah, it's been a while since I've hollered from the town
Mess around and heard Yuk and Knum, said I gotta be down
Cause new styles is goin down, look around you
Tunes from the Lunz spreadin round and round you
Back to get my O on, they let me flow on
The thirty-five on it, yeah, I'm on it
Still bringin satin for them drawers
Velvet for the mic and got a pound for the cause

Digital Underground is an alternative rap group hailing from Oakland, California, who played a big part in giving West Coast rap the spotlight. Their leader was Greg "Shock G" Jacobs, who also went by the stage name of Humpty Hump. Jacobs spent most of his youth in New York City and southern Florida. Heavily influenced by the various funk bands of the 1970s, Digital Underground sampled their music frequently, which quickly became a defining element of West Coast rap. Their 'alternative' status owes much to their unabashedly spaced-out image, which lay in contrast to the gangster rap that most west coast acts focused on. The group's original image was set up to be a tribute to social activists The Black Panthers, but when Public Enemy became a prominent band, Jacobs chose to take the group's image in a more whimsical direction, that of an updated Parliament-Funkadelic for the hip-hop audience. Jacobs designed detailed album covers and cartoon-laced liner notes, a homage to Parliament-Funkadelic album designs. They are also notable for catapulting member Tupac Shakur into the spotlight.

Members include: Shock G, Money-B, Humpty Hump, Piano Man, DJ Nu-Stylez, Cleetis Mack and 2Fly Eli. Former members include: Tupac Shakur, Saafir and more!

T embarked on his journey to PUSH THE BAY upon realizing the importance of creating opportunities for fellow independent artists. This idea to PUSH THE BAY manifested into a concert series/artist showcase called PUSHIN' THE BAY as well as PTBTV.

Co-host and veteran Bay Area MC Ray Luv lends his experience and position in the formative stages of the Bay Area rap scene to PTBTV. Unlike other shows PTBTV features a host who draws from direct experience in relation to the shows mission as well as with its interview subjects.

Ironically it was Luvs work that brought T into the world of hip-hop. Their collaboration has brought balance to the objective of PTBTV, showcasing the contributions and innovations made by Bay Area rap pioneers. As Luv serves as a representative of PTBTV to the music industry, T provides the shows technical savviness.

It took two minds to get this vision moving full force. Him a 90s Bay Area rapper from my hometown and me a Chinese-American in love with Bay Area rap music from the 90s said T. Together these two will push the Bay to unprecedented heights.
