Thanks to all the workers involved in the restoration effort. While we don't have power yet, we know each worker is working 16 hours a day to get power back to us. That can't be fun in this snow, ice, and freezing temps. Hopefully, they'll be done by Christmas so those who travelled here to help us can spend Christmas with their families.

Congratulations and heartfelt appreciation to the line crews!
Yesterday afternoon (Tuesday), I walked around my neighborhood (Rideout Road, Hollis) and counted about 90 houses without power since midnight last Thursday night. On Hillside Drive, there's a utility pole with the top eight feet snapped off; it fell straight to the ground and stands erect, with its transformer four feet above ground. There are four or five snapped lines on Hannah Drive. They are 3/8" diameter unclad aluminum cables. I measured 195 feet between two poles where a cable snapped. There's a crossbeam on the pole at the corner of Hannah and Rideout whose support bracket gave way. The assembly is plain wood, and not especially sturdy. We are plagued with 19'th century technology. No wonder ordinary ice causes so much havoc.
Regards, Robert

You have to admit though, those are some nice birds.

In these trying times where hundreds of thousands are without power, freezing in the night, I am reassured by the silent regurgitating bird on your youtube channel. Thank you, PSNH!
