In 1995, activists from throughout Pennsylvania's Latino communities came together to develop an organization that would be an advocate voice and an organizing tool for Latinos in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. As a result, the Pennsylvania Statewide Latino Coalition (PSLC) was established in 1996. It was determined that one tool that could be utilized to bring together Latinos from throughout the state was to establish a statewide conference to focus on a broad range of issues and concerns affecting Latino populations and communities.
