HD Footage of the Liftoff of Space Shuttle Endeavour Mission: STS-127 psb2usa - 302 views - 4 days ago
Liftoff of Space Shuttle Endeavour in HD!

Space shuttle Endeavour and a crew of seven astronauts are rocketed into orbit, beginning a two-day pursuit of the International Space Station. Endeavour's two solid rocket boosters ignited right on schedule at 6:03 p.m. EDT, sending the shuttle soaring past the launch tower at NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida. The boosters burn out about two minutes into the climb, leaving Endeavour's trio of main engines to complete the ascent to orbit. Stand by for main engine cutoff, expected about eight-and-a-half minutes into flight.
recorded with Match Box Pro USB satellite receiver and a 6' C-Band Satellite dish (As seen on the www.VisionPlus.US forum)
This HD footage is FIRST Generation unlike what you see on regular Satellite TV, NEXT best thing to being there.

STS-127 Launch Scrubbed Due to Weather in HD psb2usa - 179 views - 6 days ago
Tonights launch of STS-127 is SCRUBBED again Due to bad Weather
Mon, 13 Jul 2009

Recorded from 1st generation C-Band satellite on a Match Box Pro USB receiver and a 6' dish, see the system I used at VisionPlus.US
FREE HD TV, 1st generation, you have to see it in real life!!!!!!! NEXT best thing to being there!

Liftoff of the space shuttle Endeavour on the STS-127 mission has been scrubbed once more due to weather within the launch area at NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida USA. Dark anvil clouds and storms containing lightning flared up just before the end of the countdown, violating many stringent launch safety rules.

C-Band on a DirecTV Slimline Antenna? psb2usa - 248 views - 2 weeks ago
I LOVE the 4th of July vacation. More time to mess around with satellite!

Well this time I used a DirecTV Slimline dish and a BSC621 C/Ku Band LNB

Ku Band was a breeze and I was shocked at the high signal quality, I am sure if it were raining or overcast some of the weaker Ku Band transponders would drop out. But on a clear sunny day this dish performed well on Ku Band.

As for C-Band.............. as per usuall I let my trusty Traxis DBS 3500 do all the work, I knew I was on the Clarke Belt but no matter what I did I could not get a sniftter of a C-band signal. Usuallu I can always get the ASN channel but this time I had no luck. I tested all weekend with no results, I will keep the test rig up and running and post here any further results, I guess I was just expecting too much with a 29" x 25" dish................ Now if I had used the BSC421 LNB with a conical scalar ring? maybe next weekend : )

Happy Birthday USA

Here is a great web site for refurbished King Dome Mobile satellite products. Many times the refurbished items are in mint conditions. (Returned wrong orders, no issue / user installer error......... )the repair technicians are more highly trainded than production drones and the units are updated with the most current software, where as if you buy a new system off the shelf it may even have slightly older software! (The newer the software the more current the satellites listed, so does not matter that much)

Easy Satellite Signal Finder System FTA psb2usa - 273 views - 3 weeks ago
Have you ever wanted to buy a satellite dish for the free channels but didn't want to pay a big price for installation? Do you really need a installer? Are you able to install the system yourself? What's involved?

Now there is a revolutionary new system, the Easy Signal Finder system. With the Easy Signal Finder system, you don't need a installer and you won't spend countless hours reading poorly written instructions and trying to find the satellite you want. Armed with a few hand tools for assembly, a compass and some common sense, you can align this system within 10 minutes. You can end all the frustration of dish alignment by using the Easy Signal Finder patented technology that comes exclusively with our receivers.

In the past few years, delivering programming by satellite has become very easy and fairly inexpensive. Satellite can deliver programming to almost anywhere making it attractive for the program provider and the prospective audience.

If you are a organization delivering your programming by satellite, the Easy Signal Finder system is perfect for you. The biggest problem with reception of satellite programming is the installation of the reception equipment. In the past installations required a professional installer. Using installers outside your organization presents many problems including, expensive installation costs, in-experienced installers, the risk of the installer selling his own equipment to your customer.

Now you can eliminate all the problems of the installation by using our Easy Signal Finder system. With our Easy Signal Finder system you can concentrate on promoting your programming and not on installation support.

MULTIMO by Zehnder PORTABLE SATELLITE DISH psb2usa - 222 views - 3 weeks ago
OK I read the below about the MULTIMO PORTABLE SATELLITE DISH by Zehnder and was recently lucky enough to have had a sample unit for evaluation here in the US of A.

Firstly it has a Linear UNIVERSAL LNB (Of course) And the LNB can be hand skewed by about +/- 20 deg.

To start I aimed the antenna by eye and let my trusty TRAXIS DBS 3500 satelite receiver do the work, I Blind scanned in AMC - 1 right away. You could have knocked me over with a feather when RTPi popped in at 74% signal Quality. TV Latio then popped in at 45-50% signal quality.........

I then hooked up my TRIMAX satellite meter and pointed true south (93 deg. W.) and the Azteca channels blind scanned in at 66% I continued scanning until it got dark with mixed results. More to come I am sure.........
Although never intended for this market I found this dish to work perfectly on some of the very strong transponders......... on a clear day......... with an oncoming wind ; ) "The Multimo is one of the best selling portable satellite dishes in the U.K., its compact size and ease of use making it an ideal satellite dish for mobile use.

With any satellite dish designed for mobile use, one of the most important factors is how its fixed in position. The Multimo can be mounted in the following ways:

♦ On a tripod, jockey wheel or pole. (a U-clamp is supplied)
♦ Using a magnet (available separately)
♦ Using a suction mount (available separately)
♦ Free-standing on a table, a stool or even on the ground, even inside an awning. (a G-clamp is supplied)

No other satellite dish has all these mounting options.

Although it only measures 40cm in diameter, the Multimo has the performance of a 55cm satellite dish and can be used over the whole of Europe. It will receive all U.K. TV channels all over England, Scotland, Wales & Ireland and over most of France.

The Multimo has a base unit and can be simply placed on a table or clamped to a shelf or step. If preferred, the dish can be removed from its base and clamped to a pole or tripod mount.

If used with a Zehnder satfinder and in accordance with the instructions supplied, it should take no longer than a few minutes to set the system up and be receiving satellite TV."

The Multimo portable satellite dish is suitable for use with both analogue and digital transmissions and can be used with any satellite receiver Zehnder

Make a Digital HD TV Antenna from a Gate. psb2usa - 1,067 views - 1 month ago
Is this the worlds BIGGEST home made Digital off Air HD antenna?

Never satisifed I came across this gate, and first thing I thought was "BIG HD ANTENNA"

I added the standard "CoatHanger" antenna and mounted it as high as I could....... BANG! Signals were WELL up and directional, but not as bad as the smaller reflectors I have been working with!

Maybe a tad too big for the roof so I mounted it on a H to H C-Band antenna mount, The elevation is set at 45º the latitude for this area. I am sure it would work a lot better if I changed this angle and had the antenna vertical. I don't have an actuator on this mount right now so moved it by hand just to show the motion.

Another fun project! Bigger is better when it comes to antenna! The 'gate' antenna is 4' 7" x 3' in size!

8' C Band Antenna Dish Refurbishment psb2usa - 245 views - 1 month ago
I have had a 6' C-Band dish for a few years now and have had great fun with it, I boast I can get 95% of C-Band signals...... 99% of the time. But after recently helping SPACEVIDCAST with the installation of their C-Band antenna I thought I too would "upgrade" to a larger dish. It's about 1' bigger all round as you can see from the picture where I have some petals from each dish standing next to each other. It's around 8' in dia.

I scanned craigslist and sure enough found one locally just across the border in WI. The drive there was amazing and a treat in it's self. Wisconsin is beautiful in springtime.

It takes me around 30 minutes to get there, (reminds me that I actually live closer to WI. than I do the Minneapolis Metro area!) only to find the dish was weather damaged, and perhaps bullet damaged judging by the holes : )

Anyway I get to work on one of the windiest days in my recent memory. RATS! Close to every nut and bolt was seized, luckily when I cranked on them most all snapped. In total it took me 45 mins to take the monster apart.

The refurbishment was fun, firstly I replaced most every nut and bolt, The main elevation screw was seized and I had to use my two decades in heavy mechanical engineering experience to free everything maintaining the thread. (WD 40)

I then beat out and repaired all the dents and bullet holes in the mesh, and painted everything with the obligatory MATT BLACK paint. As a long time mechanical Engineer and LICENSED satellite technician I measured everything before dismantling the antenna and when I reinstalled it, pointing it by eye............ BANG I had signal without doing any tweaking! I did eventually tinker with the skew a little, but to be fair C-Band signals are very forgiving and I was working with the BEST C-Band LNB around. The BSC421, it's the Beez Kneez! GREAT signals and stability, I have had mine for a few years now and never lets me down. VERY robust LNB! And so cheap too, there is no better LNB at any price!

The final test was tracking the Clarke Belt of course, but once again with all the correct angles and a PERFECTLY plumb and level pole/mast I was crack on there too!

C-Band is still VERY much worth the effort and this project was a LOT of fun! As for what I am going to be doing with my "wee" 6' C-band antenna..................... you will have to wait. But as a hint............. it will be mobile!

Thanks for watching by the way!

Forgot to say it came with a FREE actuator too!

STS-125 Space Shuttle Atlantis Lands at Edwards Air Force Base psb2usa - 5,825 views - 1 month ago
Atlantis Lands at Edwards Air Force Base

Space shuttle Atlantis landed on orbit 197 at Edwards Air Force Base in California at 11:39 a.m. EDT with a deorbit burn performed at 10:24 a.m. The burn slowed Atlantis to begin its descent.

Weather conditions forced flight controllers to pass on STS-125s first landing opportunity at Kennedy Space Center in Florida.

Atlantis arrived at the Hubble Space Telescope on May 13, and the STS-125 crew performed five spacewalks on five consecutive days to repair and upgrade the telescope.

STS-125 is the 126th shuttle mission.

Recorded with the Match Box Pro USB Satellite receiver on my PC and 30" dish and JSC321s LNB

The BEST Looking Satellite forum in the World? psb2usa - 99 views - 2 months ago
AMAZING! The background to the VisionPlus.US World Satellite Forum is a view looking down on the USA from a wether satellite, it's LIVE so it's constantly changing. Every time you change page on the forum you can see the weather all over the USA.

Another nice touch is the SATELLITE theme to the forum, it really adds to the appeal and above all the content. There is a members only WILD FEEDS area where details of LIVE satellite SPORTS/NEWS feeds can be found.

This video is just to give an idea of the format we have and to give a feel for the forum, I start to change page closer to the end of the video so stick with it : )

Black VuQube half coated in Rain Shield psb2usa - 48 views - 2 months ago
I coated half of the worlds first BLACK VuQube with RainShield. As you can see it leaves a white chalky deposit on a black surface as it was designed for white Domes and regular Grey satellite dish where it is hardly noticeable. That being said I still recommend it to owners of black King Domes for example. Eventually the product will fade on it's own. reminding you its time for a re-caot of Rain Shield.

Here you can see even though its raining HARD outside the side of the Vuqube coated with Rain Shield (Also called Dome magic in the RV industry) remains bone dry. The top surface of the Vuqube is great for showing the hydrophobic properties of Rain Shield in action.
As I often say the water droplets look as if they are 'dancing' on a hot skillet, they just can't flatten out on the surface and so remain as spheres they rolls or are blown off if driving!
