This is the first edit of the trailer for our upcoming short documentary film series entitled "That's So Gay" by rgb | collective. It was shown yesterday to high school students as part of our diversity workshop at Monmouth County's Day of Tolerance at Brookdale Community College in New Jersey. We'll be posting video from the live event as soon as it becomes available.
Starting in early November, the film series will begin. Made entirely from online video sources, mostly YouTube, "That's So Gay" is kind of a long-form mashup video, remixed and edited documentary style. The mission of the film is to identify and examine the issues surrounding bias and intolerance towards the gay community, focusing on the fairly recent appearance of homophobia and hater comments in web 2.0 social media networks. In addressing this, ways to combat hate and promote diversity will be emphasized.
