High Speed Video of beaded chain being jerked up at one end.
This is essentially the same as the a chain fixed at one end and falling. From the frame of reference of the chain, this is exactly the same. Two small differences: 1) There is some friction with the floor. 2) The end attached to the weight does not accelerate upward with the full gravitational acceleration; the Attwood's machine type pulley system will accelerate slower than 9.8 m/s/s.

High Speed Video of beaded chain being dropped.
I made this one because of some curious features I noticed in a computer simulation of the same thing. Namely, the free end of the chain falls "flat" most of the time. And near the fixed end of the chain the chain appears to stop for some time.

High Speed Video of a Coke can being crushed by atmospheric pressure.
The water in the can was boiled filling the can with steam. When dropped into the tub the vapor quickly cools leaving behind nothing in the can. Water is sucked in from the bottom but is too heavy and viscous to be drawn in quickly enough. Air pressure outside of the can crushes in quickly.

Two wires connected to a 120 Hz spark timer and set vertical so that they are slightly closer at the bottom form a Jacob's Ladder. The sparks jump where it is easiest for the electric field to cause a breakdown in the gas molecules of the air to form a plasma. The hot plasma rises with each consecutive spark making the next spark form at a higher location on the wire. Once high enough, the longer section of hot gas is not the best path for the current and a new spark forms where the wires are closest together.
Also notice that the potential switches signs with each other spark. It appears that some metal sputtering is taking place where the ions collide one one side of the spark. This makes that side slightly brighter.
The formation of the spark is to quick and too faint to be seen with this video at just 500 frames per second. But some of the growth and fading of the spark can be seen if you watch carefully.
