Hey everyone. I guess it's time to give a little introduction here. My name is Natalie and I've now been playing the guitar and songwriting for a little over a year. I started by just messing around on Youtube and sharing my videos with my family and friends. One day I hope to upgrade from my $18 Wal-Mart webcam/mic combo and give you guys some decent videos. :) Until then I'm just going with the flow and sharing a little piece of my muffled, blurred self with the world.

I love interpreting music by other artists and letting my own music flow from theirs. A lot of times my covers won't sound much like the original, but that's the point, eh? It's definitely time for some guitar lessons as I've learned some of the basics on my own but struggle to make a good sound out of my 6 strings. I know what I want it to sound like in my head but translating that to my fingers is a different story.
About Me:

It's hard to put my favorite music into words...isn't that the whole point of music, to put a voice to something that can't be explained by language? As humans I suppose it's natural for us to want to group things together, put them in their appropriate box and slap a label on it, so here ya go..my favorites are typically labeled as blues, folk, roots, americana, blugrass, acoustic. People have said that my voice is a mix between Natalie Merchant and Tracy Chapman...that, quite possibly is the best compliment I've ever gotten.

I recently started doing some shows and amazingly people came out to listen to me bang around on my guitar and fumble around on stage. I got such a good response from my fumbling and guitar banging that they asked me to come back (Smith's Olde Bar in Atlanta) for another show. So I will fumble, bang, and yelp once again. (September 26, 2009 at 10pm, for those who are into that kinda thing)

My hope is not that I'll be a perfect musician and hit every note exactly or play my guitar like the pros. I will highly disappoint if that is the expectation of me. My hope is that you see the soul and feeling I put into my music and translate that into something good in your life. Whether it be something musical or something simple like a smile on your face or a tinge in your stomach. I feel the music and it's wonderful, magical powers and hope you can too.

I think you have a really pretty voice, and agree with the first comment. You just need the decent recording set up. You have a great voice. Keep it up!
