I guess I watch all of your videos over and over now. We do share a lot in common with doing telescopes on and off with other interests we have. Will with your working on telescope for a long time I can throw an idea at you that you might all ready know. You can take a web cam apart down to the circuit board. Place it in a bottle cap; then mount it to the focus adapter. I think the bottle cap/focus adapter will work with a measurement of 1" to 1.25". Then use some black tape to make the mount stationary to the focus adapter. Well anyway I do like your videos and wouldn't mine to say hi back and forth on ideas. Take care

Hey mate. I realy like your videos, I havent made a mirror yet but the Birmingham Astronomical Society have a little workshop. ive just joined the society. the workshpo is closed at the moment because there is some aspestos removal in a room near by, in the basement af Aston University. ive been watching your videos and ive found out alot. there is nothing else on the internet like your telescope makers workshop. Fortunado the Contaminator seems to distract you at times but i think Fortunado may have a group of fans out there. I do have one question.for my first mirror would you advise me making a long planetary telescope or a wide view telescope?. all i know is im gonna start with no less than a 6.5" mirror because ive got a 6" already.. im tempted to start with 8" but maybe that will be jumping the gun a little bit. The only other thing is im itching for the next video instalment. : )

Thanks for the comments, I enjoy watching your videos, you seem very knowledgeable.

I have three cats of my own, and they're always getting into everything.

Hi! I'm planning to build a 16" Newtonian telescope. I don't have alot of money but time I do have alot of! Ok, what will be the most difficult part of building a telescope? I would gladly appreciate your comment. Thanks!

I'm so excited to have found your site! My husband got his Messier certificate years ago and is almost there for his NGC. Overworked... His goal after that is to make his own mirror. I've added you to my subscriptions to help inspire him. We've just starting watching all your videos: love the cat and your sense of humour. He's got so many books on the subject, but it's just not the same as seeing it done. Thank you!

Thanks for the subscription! So happy to find you. Astronomy is one of my hobbies so I was fast to subscribe back, Sad thing that the house bought years ago is covered now by City Lights. Filters filter out to much! Hope to learn from you! Peace and Good Jer

December 31, 2007 Tonight I had first light with my Eigth inch f/6 telescope. I had to re mount the mirror twice, further up the tube so that I could focus the telescope, but now it works like a charm. My wife and stepson have joined me in the endeavor and enjoyed the telescope with me.

Stars are pinpoint as they should be. The Star test comes in very well. Mars is great with more surface detail than my 49 year old eyes can discern. The Orion nebula is wonderful!

My cat, Fortunado, the Contaminator's sister, also known as "The Floof" has been hovering around the telescope all night. I flatter myself that she wants to be part of first light, but in reality, she wants to go inside where it is warm and eat.
